Every kid can be a leader in his or her own way. Middle school, with its constantly changing social environment, is a great place to practice stepping up to leadership. Our camps are a fun way to for kids to learn these skills and how to navigate their new social world with confidence. Plus, camps are fun!
I recently received this email from a former camper, now a senior in high school:
“Hi Michelle! I don’t know if you remember me, but I’m (name removed). In the summer before my seventh grade, I went to the Athena’s Path camp. The camp and lessons will forever remain within me. I constantly tell people that I am who I am because of my experiences during camp.”
I hear this a lot from parents and occasionally from some amazing kids who take the time to write me. Nothing makes me happier than hearing these lessons are formative for kids at a time when they need them most. And middle school is definitely when kids need them most because that is when they are developing their sense of an adult identity. In other words, what kids believe about themselves in middle school sticks.
“My daughter did Athena’s Path a few years ago and my son just finished Hero’s Pursuit. Thanks so much for making it cool to talk about these tough topics and for supporting us as parents by providing a more cool and accessible voice to the healthy, positive messages we want our kids to absorb.”
Kids come back over and over to Athena’s Path & Hero’s Pursuit Summer Camps because they love the friendships they make, the games they play, and the lessons they learn. Your son or daughter will learn from talented, experienced teachers and the coolest, nicest high schoolers around. Best of all, they’ll have FUN! It’s summer, after all!
